About
Who I am.
B.S. in Computer Science from UNM with a minor in Mathematics. Coursework covers software engineering, operating systems, declarative and functional programming, and cybersecurity.
Prior to CS, I founded and operated a skateboard company for four years, managing product design, CNC manufacturing, grant writing, order fulfillment, and customer support independently.
Currently contributing to Internet Archive's Open Library across search infrastructure and frontend. Actively looking for software engineering roles.

Skills
What I work with.
Projects
Things I've built.
A full recreation of the first two worlds of Super Mario Bros. (1985), built entirely in Haskell. No game engine, no shortcuts.
- Implemented game physics, collision detection, and enemy AI from scratch using functional patterns
- Built sprite animation and level data structures covering 8 complete levels across 2 worlds
- Drove the entire game loop recursively, with state transitions modeled as pure functions
A handheld device that scans and validates QR codes against live phishing threat databases before they are opened on a phone.
- Packaged on a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W with camera module inside a repurposed vintage handheld toy
- Decoded QR codes with OpenCV and cross-referenced URLs against threat intelligence APIs over WiFi
- Displayed pass/fail verdicts on an integrated OLED display before a phone ever opens the link
Active contributor to Internet Archive's Open Library, a production codebase serving millions of readers. Work spans search infrastructure and frontend.
- Submitted a PR adding full-text search over /type/page documents via Apache Solr, including an indexer and eDisMax-based search scheme with 5x title boosting
- Built a paginated endpoint and an extensive pytest suite covering the new functionality
- Currently working on open UI/UX issues across the JavaScript and template layers of the production codebase
Grandma Skateboards was a small business I founded and ran solo for four years. The original storefront ran on Big Cartel. I am rebuilding it from scratch as a fully responsive archive site in vanilla HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Full rebuild with no frameworks or templates, designed to document the complete product history
- The business raised over $25,000 for nonprofits nationwide and received $15,000 in City of Albuquerque small business grants
Experience
Where I've worked.
CS & Mathematics Tutor
- Tutored 10+ STEM students per week in Python, Java, and Calculus I through III
- Covered concepts including recursion, sorting algorithms, and Big-O complexity across varying skill levels
- Prepared individualized lesson materials for each student to reinforce comprehension and retention
Founder & Web Developer
- Secured $15,000 in competitive small business grants and organized fundraisers raising over $25,000 for nonprofits
- Built and maintained a customer-facing storefront in HTML/CSS; currently rebuilding as a fully responsive archive
- Managed full product lifecycle independently: design, CNC manufacturing, fulfillment, and customer support
Smart Grid Field Technician
- Installed commercial and residential smart meters across Phoenix, Grand Cayman, New York, and Seattle
- Consistently ranked #1 company-wide in daily meter installations by finding more efficient workflows without sacrificing quality
